 | Murley Band for European Brass Band Championships |
Murley Silver Band will be representing Northern Ireland at the European
Brass Band Championships being held in Stavanger in Norway from the 2nd to the
5th May 2008. Best wishes from the NIBA, its Officers and all member bands in
the association to Murley band and their conductor Mr Keith Anderson for a
sucessful and enjoyable trip.
The line up for the B section at the EBBA Championships is as
follows:
- Murley Silver Band (N. Ireland)
- 3BA Brass (Germany)
- Brass Band Frener-Reifer (Italy)
- Musikkorpset Gjallarhorn (Norway)
Also best wishes to Ruth and Michael Montgomery from 3rd Carrickfergus band
who will be representing the NIBA in the European Youth Brass Band in Stavanger.

At the Annual General Meeting held on Saturday 15th March 2008 the Following
Notices of Motion were passed.
1.To amend Contest Rule 09 by replacing the words 'Grade 4 'with the
words 'Melody Plus'.
2. New Contest Rule - 'Bands will be allowed to play a maximum of two
guest players at a contest. The guest players must be registered members of the
North of Ireland Bands' Association . Guest players can only be from a band of
the same type and must be in the same or lower grade as the band intending to
use the guest players on the day of the contest'.
 | NIBA Contest 2008 - 91st Championship of Ireland |
The 91st Championship of Ireland Contest will be held in the Market Place
Theatre, Armagh on Saturday 25th October and Saturday 1st November 2008. The
ajudicator on the 25th October will be Mr. Sandy Hay MA, PG Dip, BA Hons, LGSM,
(Schools Concert Bands, Flutes and Accordions) and Mr. Markus Bach on the
1st November (Brass and Championship Concert Bands).
