BBL Spring Festival, Alley Theatre, Strabane - Prizes / Results

The Annual Spring Festival was held on Saturday 4th April 2009 in association with The North West Music Festival and St Joseph's Brass Band in the Alley Theatre, Strabane. This was the first visit by the BBL to Strabane.

The Swedish youth Band who are visiting Strabane as part of the Music Festival were involved in the announcing off the results when suitable fanfares were played . They also performed at a concert in the Alley Theatre with Steve Sykes later on the Saturday evening.

Band of the Year

The Haughton Cup for the band of the year was also awarded at the BBL Spring Festival in Strabane. The winner was 1st Old Boys Silver. Joint runners up were Newtownards Silver and Third Carrickfergus Bands.

Fourth Section

Ist place St. Mary's (Tempo) 119 points, 2nd place Dungannon Silver 118 points also best soloist and best march, 3rd place Poyntzpass Silver 116 points.

Third / Second Section

1st Place Ballyduff Silver 127 points, 2nd Place Roughan Silver 124 points, 3rd Place 3rd Carrickfergus 123 points also best march, Best 3rd Section Band Wellington Silver 118 points also best soloist.

Championship Section

1st Place Laganvale (Metal Technology) 131 points also best soloist,2nd Place 1st Old Boys' Silver 128 points also best march.

The  music ajudicator was Alan Morrison and the entertainment ajudicator was Beverley Weir. The compere for the event was William Caughey (BBL President)
